Biotin (vitamin B7, also known as vitamin H) is a water-soluble B vitamin that plays a crucial role in the human body. It acts as a coenzyme for enzymes involved in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins, thereby helping to convert nutrients into energy. For this reason, biotin is important for both cellular energy production and the general functioning of the body.
A bioactive substance (e.g., bisglycinate or folate) can immediately participate in biochemical reactions in cells, which is extremely important for the body. In contrast, inactive vitamins must first be converted into their active – coenzyme – form in order to be used. Such conversion requires additional enzymatic reactions. Meanwhile, bioactive vitamins are already in coenzyme form, so they can be used immediately in cells, without additional chemical transformations.
